We would like to say a massive thank you to all who came to Xavier Project’s annual fundraising London Bongo Ball 2015 and to the committee who made the night happen! Thanks to your generous donations we raised near to £10,000 – which will go towards the education work we are doing in Uganda. What an epic night! Our relocation to Bayswater’s stunning Porchester Hall set the scene for a vibrant night full of fun, music and dancing. The night kicked off with a drinks reception where sparkling wine flowed and canapés were served against the backdrop of guitarist’s Tadeusz Nelson melodies. Sounds from remote equatorial African villages were brought to the capital, by the legendary band, Kasai Masai and enticed many people to the dance floor.
Bongo Ball’s 300 guests feasted on a sumptuous three-course spread by Wishes Caterers. Xavier Project’s founder and CEO Edmund Page and guest speaker, Dr Josiah Kaplan, a Research Fellow at Oxford University’s Humanitarian Innovation Project enlightened guests on what it means to be a refugee. A video that was put together by our team in Kenya and Uganda, highlighted how Xavier project is helping. The fabulous Freddie fforde provided great entertainment and hosted a fantastic auction which included a trip to Kenya that was won for £2,200. For the second year running, I am grateful to DJ Seddon, who kept the guests bopping to his great dance tunes. MODE Collective generously contributed to sponsoring the VIP after party. Thanks to GETT taxis all guests benefited from a £30 credit voucher.
There were many people who worked hard behind the scenes to whom I am incredibly indebted. If you would like to be involved next year to help us raise the bar even further, please do reach out and get in touch. We would love to have you as part of our team. The good news is that the event still has much room for growth and we are excited about welcoming you all to many more fundraising events for Xavier Project.
